LILA* expands range of Teacher Development courses to meet growing international demand

LILA* has recently expanded its range of Teacher Development courses with the addition of the highly respected Cambridge CELT-P and CELT-S for Primary and Secondary English teachers to its existing portfolio as well as a brand new range of short online courses which include accredited Cambridge University Press modules.

CELT-P and CELT-S are rigorous and practical courses leading to a Cambridge English qualification, helping teachers motivate and engage learners and developing teaching quality. The Teaching English Skills courses combine online learning, webinars and practical tasks to help bring communicative, four-skills based teaching techniques to the classroom.

All of the new courses are delivered through a blend of online self-study and face-to-face (online) learning, to make them accessible to larger numbers of teachers making them a great fit for education institutes and regional and national governments.

As an established provider of teacher training LILA* is well placed to meet this demand. Jim Pearson, Head of Teacher Training at LILA* says “in recent years a number of national governments have launched significant programmes to expand English teaching and learning, particularly in Asia and Latin America. Many of these initiatives are focused on training teachers, who will have a positive effect on students’ English levels.”

The world is changing at a rapid rate, technology is normalising online channels of delivery and the demand for quality teaching and learning English is showing no signs of abating. With English the global language of choice and with international schools on the increase, the need for experienced and qualified English Teachers remains.
