New Video - Lewis School Winchester Junior Centre

Lewis School of English is proud to present a new video of its Winchester Summer Junior Centre.

Launched last year, the centre is based at the University of Winchester and is open to students aged 11-17. The video showcases the excellent facilities on campus and the beautiful city of Winchester, one of England’s most picturesque destinations.

The former capital of England, Winchester is visited by 4 million people every year. You’ll soon see why. Though small in size (its population is just 50,000), it buzzes with life and in its historic city you’ll find something charming around every corner.

At the heart of the city is Winchester Cathedral. This 11th century masterpiece was used in the filming of The Da Vinci Code. Another attraction not to be missed is the Great Hall, best known for the Round Table, which has hung there for over 700 years. According to myth, the wizard Merlin created the original Round Table for King Arthur. Winchester’s is an imitation made in the 13th century for King Edward I. With beautiful riverside walks, hilltop views, street markets and echoes of famous figures from Saxon kings to Jane Austen, you're sure to love this special city. Its location is ideal too, being just a one-hour train ride from London.

The campus is a 15-minute walk from the city centre and offers fantastic facilities – highlights include a stunning dining hall, hi-tech classrooms and an excellent disco. Residential accommodation is provided in single en-suite rooms.

The centre runs from 2 July to 6 August 2023. Students can choose from our Classic Junior Programme or English & Theatre, which is based on popular musicals.
