Southbourne adds three specialist adult courses in 2027, each built around a clear goal and taught in small groups of B1 level and above.
English to Prepare for University is a fixed four-week course for students heading into degree-level study in the UK. Mornings cover 15 hours of General English; afternoons add 6 hours of pre-sessional work on academic reading, writing and seminar skills, for 21 hours a week in total. Classes are capped at 10, with four-week courses and monthly start dates.
Over 30s Executive English is designed for working professionals who want progress measured in weeks rather than terms. Classes are capped at five students, all aged 30 or over, so the pace and subject matter stay adult throughout. The week covers 21 hours of class plus 2 hours of one-to-one tuition, focused on business communication and practical AI English, with a hot lunch included. Available from 1-week, starting the first Monday of any month.
English for Content Creators is a first for the school: a six-module curriculum for aspiring creators who want to publish confidently in English. Students work on scripting, presenting, interviewing and the vocabulary of digital platforms across 21 hours a week, in groups of no more than eight. Available as a two-week course or four-week course, with monthly starts.
All three run alongside the school’s General, Intensive and Cambridge programmes in Southbourne, a ten-minute walk from the beach, with homestay accommodation available.
