Quality English Academic Journal – Issue 3

Learner-centred & Personalised Instruction

The third edition of the Quality English Academic Journal is now available, bringing together a collection of thoughtful articles exploring learner-centredness and personalised instruction across Quality English schools.

The QE Academic Journal continues to serve as a valuable platform for sharing innovative ideas, research insights, and scholarly dialogue within the EFL academic community. This year’s edition reflects the expertise, experience, and commitment of educators working across a wide range of learning contexts.

In his introduction, Jonathan Swindell highlights the growing importance of adaptable and human-centred teaching practices in today’s classrooms:

“As classrooms become increasingly diverse, the importance of flexible, responsive teaching practices continues to grow.”

The journal also explores how learner-centred approaches remain essential in an educational landscape increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence. Across eight articles, contributors examine how responsive, principled pedagogy and meaningful relationships continue to shape successful language learning experiences.

As Guest Editor Ian Brangan, Director of Education at The Linguaviva Centre, notes in the introduction, learner-centredness is not presented as a single methodology, but rather as a connected ecosystem of practices that place human agency and relationships at the heart of educational quality.

This edition once again demonstrates why Quality English schools continue to offer distinctive and highly personalised learning environments in a rapidly evolving international education sector.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Guest Editor, Ian Brangan, for his guidance, expertise, and contribution to this year’s publication.
