CELT – The Centre for English Language Teaching is excited to share some of our Cardiff highlights with you. The historic, multicultural capital city of Cymru/Wales is a great place for you to begin (or continue) your learning English journey.
– I want to make friends while I study. Why should I choose Cardiff?
Cardiff has a reputation for being a friendly city – our students tell us all the time! There are many cafes, restaurants and bars, with new Japanese and Korean restaurants recently opened on Saint Mary Street – the home of Cardiff’s vibrant nightlife scene.
CELT offers an engaging social programme, allowing learners to explore the city (and beyond) in a natural, friendly way.
– I love history, culture and the arts. Does Cardiff have any of these things?
Cardiff is home to the largest collection of impressionist art outside of Paris – pieces by Renoir, Monet and Van Gogh are displayed in the National Museum.
You can’t miss Cardiff Castle – a Roman/Norman/Gothic celebration of medieval fairy tales and history.
For music lovers, there are live music venues and karaoke hotspots. A brand new arena for international events/artists is currently being built in Cardiff Bay. The Millennium Centre is also a great place for shows!
– I love sports and nature. What can I see and do?
The city is known for having many parks and green spaces. Cardiff is also surrounded by beautiful open countryside, historic towns and beaches. Discover the second largest castle in the UK with @celtcardiff and don’t forget cherry blossom season!
The Principality Stadium is the home of rugby and exciting events. You can find gyms/leisure facilities throughout the city.
