about customs and traditions of a particular country, improving
your English skills or experiencing living in a different
climate are all good reasons why young people should go off
and explore different countries. Being an au pair is an excellent
way of achieving this.
Au Pair
Search Ltd is a British based au pair agency which brings
host families and au pairs together form different countries
in the world. We offer au pair placements in the UK, Ireland,
Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, subject to you meeting
the entry requirements for each individual country.
Au
pair schemes differ from country to country but generally
au pairs have to meet the following criteria:-
Be
a single person aged between 18 and 30
Have
no dependants
Be
able to stay for no more than one year as an au pair
The
work of an au pair can vary greatly from family to family
or from country to country. Most families will expect you
to help with light cleaning and household chores, perhaps
even some cooking! The families will also expect you to help
with some aspects of childcare. This could range from taking
older children to and from school, caring for them in the
school holidays, baby sitting for a couple of evenings per
week or caring for a younger child or baby alone for several
hours each day.
Pocket
money varies from country to country and although most au
pair jobs are live-in, the programme should be viewed
more as a cultural exchange programme, rather than an exercise
to make money.
