At the beginning of April 2012, The English Language Centre (ELC Brighton) celebrates its 50th birthday. As it embarks on its next 50 years, ELC Brighton is feeling rejuvenated after its best ever British Council inspection report, the exciting merger with Eastbourne School of English and a major investment in infrastructure that has seen a complete transformation in the school.
At its BC inspection in 2011, ELC Brighton saw a further increase in the Points of Excellence achieved to 6 points. This places ELC firmly in a small group of UK schools that has achieved 6 or more.
The 3-year investment in infrastructure has seen the complete transformation of the two main buildings inside and out, with a new reception and administration office, student and staff kitchens, new toilets, interactive whiteboards and new computer lab. The dedicated Business Centre and all 26 of the classrooms in the two buildings have been completely redecorated.
2012 will also see the opening of a dedicated teacher-training library, kindly and generously sponsored by Robert O’Neill, renowned veteran EFL course book writer.
