The Wisconsin ESL Institute (WESLI) partnered with Colombian agent Educaminos to provide a 4-week scholarship to one lucky student. Lyam Mateo won and has been studying at WESLI for 4 weeks and extended to 6 months.
Lyam feels fortunate to win and sees this opportunity to study English as an investment into his future for university and finding future jobs. Lyam is staying in the WESLI Student Residence and has made many new friends from across the world.
“This partnership with Educaminos allows us to offer short-term scholarships to help students looking to study for a few months,” said WESLI’s Director, Jennifer Phillips
“We’re looking forward to having him study with us through winter, spring, and summer. He’ll really get a unique experience here in Madison and get immersed in the culture.”
Lyam is one of three scholarship students that WESLI has partnered with different organizations in the past year. These opportunities have allowed students the experiences of a lifetime.
