This summer Millfield English Holiday Courses held their first ever Millfield Legends event, where current students heard from some past students about what Millfield means to them and how it has shaped their lives. The first three legends were Ryan from Hong Kong, Jose Luis from Spain and Stephanie from Germany, who were all chosen because of their considerable contribution to Millfield during the time they spent there. Ryan and Jose Luis made inspirational videos to show at the event, from Geneva and the Grand Canyon respectively, and Stephanie flew to England specially and the current staff and students were amazed with the emotional speech she gave. Millfield Legends will now be an annual event, with three ex-students being added to the group each year.
Millfield have been busy planning their 2018 courses and have worked on how to improve academic outcomes, introduced some new academies for both the Easter and summer courses, and refined the exciting flexible timetable at their Bruton Campus, offering students a creative and diverse mix of learning opportunities to enable them to tailor their studies to suit their own needs and interests. Finally, congratulations to Mark Greenow, Millfield’s Director of Holiday Courses and Events, who this year celebrated his 40th summer school, 17 of these having been at Millfield.
