Following on from its experience of delivering English Language courses to nurses and healthcare workers, Capital School of English (Bournemouth) is launching OET Ready, a one week intensive preparation course for nurses and doctors who are looking to take the Occupational English Test (OET).
Developed specifically to test language proficiency for healthcare professionals, OET is now recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the GMC. Like IELTS it tests all four language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking - but with its focus on material designed to reflect real healthcare scenarios is far more accessible and beneficial for its candidates.
OET Ready is a short, strategic course designed to maximise candidates potential to achieve a grade ‘B’ in OET and so further their careers. Capital School of English, having qualified as a provisional preparation provider with OET, is offering this course in the heart of Bournemouth and in easy access to a number of large healthcare trusts, to meet the needs of the local community as well as those coming from further afield. The first course was in May 2019 and further courses are programmed throughout the year to coincide with exam dates.
‘This is our first venture into providing courses for OET and we are very excited by the prospect of being a part of the career development of healthcare professionals. We have plans to increase our provision in the near future in the school and by working with local NHS Trusts.’ said Spencer Fordham, Director of Capital School of English.
