Concord College shared some exciting news with us...
The doors of the new £12 million science block, with its 21 laboratories, special projects lab, classrooms, prep rooms and offices, opened in January for its first set of timetabled lessons. Students of Concord are already benefiting from the two-storey building, with interactive learning technology including a tactile periodic table of the elements, and have likened the building to a university facility.
The new build coincided with Concord being ranked as one of the country’s top STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) schools according to government backed education campaign ‘Your Life’. Concords summer school offers a specific science course (Junior 10-12; GCSE 12-14; and A Level 15-17) along with a university preparation programme for 16-18 year olds (Medicine; Natural Sciences, Engineering; and PPE). All summer school students will have full use of the new facilities for their academic lessons, and some new science-based enrichment activities.
