LILA* launches Sixth Form College

LILA* Liverpool has announced its expansion into the FE sector with the news that they are launching an independent Sixth Form College which will be based at its existing site in the heart of Liverpool city centre. LILA* will run A-levels programmes in a range of subjects covering science, mathematics, arts, humanities, physical education, business, design and technology offering students a pathway to university.

A-levels are internationally recognised as the gold standard qualifications for entry into prestigious universities in the UK and around the world. LILA* Sixth Form students will also have the opportunity to do an Extended Project Qualification, (EPQ) which is highly valued by UK universities (especially the Russell Group) and carries UCAS tariff points equivalent to half an A-level.

Small class sizes and high levels of pastoral care, including regular mindfulness and yoga classes, will ensure that students are mentally fit to meet the rigours and demands of academic life in the UK. Students with English language needs will be able to join LILA*’s existing international student body before they embark on their A level programme making sure that they reach their full potential professionally or on entry to university.

Leanne Linacre said ‘We are thrilled to be entering this exciting sector. A-levels are highly-regarded around the world so we are delighted to be helping students progress to the very best universities. They also complement our existing English Language, Exam Preparation and Teacher Training programmes.’
